So i've been pretty happy with my progress all along but Im really looking forward to getting to that mythical "NEXT LEVEL". I know it will take a lot of effort, patience, pain, and suffer...but im just wondering how you guys got to the next level, whether it be a breakthrough workout, or brand spanking new bike.

Looking forward to hearing some of your tips and stories!

Don't really feel that I've gone to the next level, but I have seen consistent improvement from year to year so my plan seems to be working.

The secret is, there is no secret.  It is all about patience, consistency and frequency.

    My seasonal structure looks like:

    *  Competitive season - early June - mid Sept
    *  Off season - mid Sept - first Nov (train when I feel - only key is run at least 3x/week)
    *  Run/swim specific focus - Nov - end Mar (swim and/or run focus; running 4+ hours/week, swimming around 10-12km/week, 2-3 key trainer rides)
    *  Bike focus - Apr - May (consistent time in the saddle as race season approaches, still aiming to run 3-4hour/week and swim 3x/week)
