Subject: RE: Question about "Easy" training sessionssdanaher - 2009-06-25 8:49 AM I'm following thee BT Beg. Half IM training plan - I'm like... 6? 7? weeks in.
Anyway, there are occasionally "easy" runs or rides. Just the other day I had an "easy" "all small chain ring effort" ride for an hour.
I went... 13.9mph? Something like that.
What's the benefit? I'm sure there is one, just wondering.
Obviously getting used to "doing" training is one benefit... but is there something else? Is this the quote from your plan? "B: 1 hour small chainring only effort outside or on trainer." don't see easy in there, although it is in a non bike focus week. If I were writing the plan, I'd be giving small chainring rides to get you used to spinning at a higher cadence, and there would be instructions to not drop below 90. John |
