Why is my log so messed up?

Ever since I added the mentor table my log is really wide.  I tried to put a quote in my short term goas section and it got wider.  I tried to delete the blue box the qwuote was in and got left with a stripe.  I have way too much space in the goals section and keep trying to delete that empty space cause it just bugs me but it won't go away.
How can I get my log back to normal?
