Sumersault
Overcast
Total Time = 1h 35m
Overall Rank = 170/231
Age Group = 54-59
Age Group Rank = 4/4
Pre-race routine:

Everything had to be put in bags because of rain at start of race. It's interesting that I'm only last in the 54-59 category, but would have faired much better in every single other age group. The men’s 54-59 group is tough folks.
Event warmup:

No Warmup
Swim
  • 14m 43s
  • 500 meters
  • 02m 56s / 100 meters
Comments:

I have no idea what happened but I freaked out.
What would you do differently?:

Practice, practice, practice.
Transition 1
  • 03m 12s
Comments:

Need to practice but overall not bad.
Bike
  • 41m 17s
  • 20 kms
  • 29.07 km/hr
Transition 2
  • 03m 2s
Comments:

Just need to put in more mileage. My old bike was pretty well at its speed limit. Might get a faster cassette group.
Run
  • 33m 58s
  • 5 kms
  • 06m 47s  min/km
Comments:

Not enough energy to run at my usual pace. Looking at my overall rank in swimming and biking if I can just muster up a little energy in the run I can do a lot better. The running is obviously my weakness. The swim is no prize but still better than the run.
What would you do differently?:

Don't know. I guess I need to build up my resistance.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

No energy.

You seriously had a 29 mph average speed on your bike? You should consider working on your swim and turning professional. Did you have a motor on your bike?
