Anyone else looking forward to this race?
I did this course for the first time last year and really enjoyed it (even though it was a wet day).

I had a little time on my hands and was thinking about how I can improve my showing this year. The data nerd within me produced the following analysis chart.

EDIT: dang - I can't access picassa or tinypic from work. I'll post the analysis later.

Here is the race analysis from last year. For Joe Average or Jill Median a 10% improvement in swim time will save 1.8 min., a 10% bike improvement means a 5.3min gain and a 10% run improvement will save 3.5min, and a 10% improvement in transition is worth about 20 seconds.

Personally I was average in swim and transition, top 25% in bike, just below average in run. This year I'm looking to be top 15% on bike and better than average on run.

I'll be back again this year, but just doing the try a tri.
Glad to see they've made some slight improvements this year (by separating the dates for the triathlon & the try a tri PLUS i'm really looking forward to the paved run course-- particularly after how muddy it was last year)

I'm using it as a warm-up for the Welland tri & to see how much I can improve my (SLOW!) time last year....

like the charts!
handy stuff.
just reaching the 30km/hr bike time would make my Spring!
