Pre-race routine:

Get up, get there, pick up packet, listen to safety talk then board buses for trip across bridge.

Event warmup:

Swam out 20-30 strokes and back in.

Comments:

Straight swim, so no corners. Able to sight along bridge with every breath to the left. About 2 foot swells the whole way directly head on. Really tough. No waves to catch as we swam straight into them. Just concentrated on stretching out the stroke and cruising.

Event comments:

Great aid station at end with huckleberry ice cream, blueberries, coffee, tea, water, cookies, etc. Tons of fun.
