Comments: It was still windy when we started, the storm was rolling in. 12 - 18" waves I guess. Head first going out but much easier after the turn. Issues sighting because I couldn't always see over the waves. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Transition 1
Comments: Long run on carpet into transition. folded my right big toe under my foot. Hurt like hell at the time but quickly forgot about it. Now it's a little black but no pain. What would you do differently?: Keep my toes UP. Bike
Comments: Everything went GREAT on this section of the race until mile 53. Blew my front tire on a corner and wiped out. Took about 6-8 minutes to pull it together and fix my flat. BUT, drinking and eating was right on target. Pace was 20+ mph at the time which is good for me. Lite rain around mile 20-30 but nothing heavy. That was all for the day. What would you do differently?: Put in new tubes a few weeks or month before a race. Transition 2
Comments: Spent some time washing off the blood from the wreck and assessing the damage. Bike is GOOD!! I was missing skin :( I had all my run gear in a plastic bag as well. Remember, 80% of severe T-storms. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: It was a great run. Strong all the way through. Held the 9 m/m goal I had set. Ate and drank just enough w/o going over. Started to get little cramps in upper stomach towards the end but it went away. Might have just been exertion. No rain. Overcast but even lite enough to get some sun on the shoulders. What would you do differently?: Not fall off the bike ;o) Post race
Warm down: Walked around, drank recovery drink, ate fruit. What limited your ability to perform faster: Flat tire. Event comments: I'm planning my return next year! Last updated: 2013-07-19 12:00 AM

Coughed up and blew out yellow and brown crap from my chest and head for 30 minutes. Had an upset stomach from it all but I won't go into details on that. Got ready and drove to the race. Setup transition area and went back to the car to lay down.
80% chance of T-storms and an upper respiratory infection almost ruined my day.
I ran around the parking area then walked 3/4 mile to the swim start. There I did some stretching.
