Subject: My Story - 2018Hey Everyone,
I've been creeping around these forums for the past year getting a lot of good information and haven't really posted anything. I thought I would share my story over the last 12 months to help inspire some new people looking to get into the sport and achieve some of their goals in 2019.
Last fall I was not in a good place and wanted to set a big goal for myself to help get out of a rut. I decided I would do a HIM; at the time everyone thought I was crazy or talking smack (lol ) as I didn't know how to swim. Long story short, I learned how to swim and completed the race this past July and survived the swim, it was almost surreal!
Through that journey, I was able to meet some great like minded people, lose 40 pounds, quit drinking and took my half marathon time from 1:55 to 1:39 this past September. All it really took was a little bit of "sacrifice" at the start and a lot of consistency / determination. I did a 3km swim this morning to celebrate the journey!
Hope everyone has an awesome weekend and gets some miles in!
