Pre-race routine:

Had breakfast (eggs, replacement meal shake & spark) 2 hours before event and started drinking water.

Did not have age group results. Swim was nice. I did have someone draft me the entire swim.
What would you do differently?:

Swim went well. Would like to shave 10 minutes from the time.

T1 went fine - no problems. Was not in to big a hurry since this is a 1/2 Ironman and my goal was just to finish.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing (maybe leave shoes on pedals)

Went went bad. I had hoped to start walking the aid stations at mile 6. However, I started walking the aid stations at mile 1 (and a lot of walking in between). Knees hurt and so did AT.
What would you do differently?:

Try to walk 1st aid station and take my time and then at mile 5/6 start running more (giving myself time to recover from bike and HR to settle down).

Sat down and poured water all over myself.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My run.

Event comments:

Was a little disappointed in the finisher prize (wooden star). Glad I finished (that was my only goal).
