Subject: Nip coverage

Two
questions:

First
one, its not that I have overly sensitive nipples but the more I run the more
they seem to be irritated. I have tried different shirts, from a regular
t-shirt to a technical shirt to a blended shirt, same results. I was wondering
if putting a topical cream like a 'skin sake' would do the trick. Does anyone
have any other good ideas?

Second
one, is there anything out on the market that 'toughens up' the skin, more
specifically the feet. I have a new set of T7's from Brooks, love'm, but they
scratch the foot just enough to be irritating and cut the skin. Is there
something like a liquid to put on that would build up an extra layer of defense.
I don’t want to go all the way and do multiple band aids. Any ideas?

Thanks.

P.S.
Yes I was laughing to myself as I was typing this......

I put clothespins on mine during my off days and that makes them tough.....

But that's a little game my wife and I play....not anything for training.

i have been using band aid "spot" bandages for years, they work great for me. you just gotta remember to take them off before you go to the pool

Jeez, all you people do is goof around when it comes to nipples.  Here's what really works.

Cut out the nipple area of all of your shirts...

Band-Aids for the nips. And while I'm not brand-conscious about most things, Band Aid brand does seem to stick better, especially with sweat.

New Skin liquid bandage for the feet.  Before a marathon, I paint the balls of my feet and the bottoms and sides of my toes with the stuff the night before and again in the morning to add an extra layer of skin.  Could probably use on the nips as well, but I still like the Band-Aids just to be safe.

Compression shirts. If the material moves, it will irritate them. If it does not move it won't.

First:
Regular band aids for shorter runs. For loner runs, tagederm (sp?) . That stuff will not come off until you want it to come off. It's not a bad idea to shave around the area, first, if you don't want your chest hair getting pulled out.

Second:
Have you tried Body Glide? It won't toughen up the skin, but should reduce irritation.

I've tried em all and liquid bandage is the best overall solution for the nips as well.

As others have said...Band-Aid Spots for the nipples.  They will last all day and several days if you choose.  Just remember to shave around the nipples first.  Not that I have any experience with that.

For the feet, I use nothing but Bag Balm.  Amazing stuff.  Use it for cycling saddle cream as well.

Cut a coconut in half.  Place half of the coconut over each nipple.  Tie them on with string.  Complete the look with a grass skirt...

Ok, I tried this today. Two problems.

1. I now have chaffing where the string goes over my shoulder and around my back

2. I can't get the clothespins on under the coconut.

Don't get me started on what a grass skirt did to my nether regions...

Take your spare inner tube and cut it in half the long way.  Use one half as an undergarment for the string around the back area.  Use the other half as an undergarment for the string around the neck area (Although, I don't understand why you have the string going around your neck).

As for the nether region, Apply a generous amount of that rubber paint they use for the handles on nice wrenches first, then wear the grass skirt (Note, make sure you're not using saw grass).

Last, put the clothes pins on BEFORE the coconuts....

I used the string around my neck to control 'floppage.' The string around my back controlled the yaw and some of the roll axis, but i needed one over the shoulder and around my neck to control the severe floppage experienced around and about the pitch axis.

I'm beginning to believe you've never tried this before. You know that wrench coating stuff is a "hot dip" application right?
