Walmart self check outs !!! ARGH!

I pick the 24 hour Wal-Mart and do my shopping at 1am on a Tuesday.  Lines aren't so bad then!

I love the self checkout, find it faster and more efficient than dealing with the typical unfriendly, unmotivated Walmart cashier. Always look first for the self checkout no matter how many items I have.

Only in the broadest use of the definition can what the typical Walmart employee provides be described as "service."

I won't shop those stores either.  But there is a self checkout at the grocery store near my house and I love it!

I love the self checkout at both Walmart and the Grocery store...but do hate it when either an item I am scanning comes up with the wrong price and it takes 3 or 4 clerks to get the right "key" badge to fix the price...or when someone doesn't know what they are doing at the self checkout...I am quite speedy...

on a side rant...the person who isn't ready or know what they are doing at the self check out...are the same people that seem to stand in line at the fast food place, with their kids standing all around them, and wait until they get to the cashier to ask their 4 children, what do you want.  "Umm ... Ummm ... I don't know"  Jeeze...don't get in the line until you know what you want...and ask your kids before hand.

I've always felt that, for doing my own scanning and bagging, I should be given a discount, even if it's something token like 1%.

They're realizing an hourly savings.  Surely they can give me something back.

Actually, I have no problem with them -- couple items, convenience items etc... ---but like I said when you have tons of stuff -- it gets logistically sticky even unloading the basket on that small-non-moving conveyor belt while trying to ring stuff up, bag it, then re-packing it into the cart. So when I have issues with tags not reading or coupons not scanning or some other mystery scanning machine issue - I get peeved because in my mind, I'm doing their job.  Makes grocery shopping a workout

Why is it that people hate/boycott Wal-Mart?  I am just curious...

I know that I am slow on the self checkout so I don't do it.  I just go through the regular lines, which gives me ample time to read the headlines on the celebrity magazines

3 cashiers with open lanes talking in the aisle.....no other customers but me (un-Godly early on a week day).  I asked which lane I should go to and got foot shuffling, eye rollin and gum poppin.  Oh, NO!  Go get your manager....NOW.  I'd had it, I snapped.  And I was loud and accusatory and stereotyping and probably PMS'ing (NOT excusing my behavior, just splaining it). The manager walked me out 'for my own safety'. 

I don't miss Wal-mart.  I have been mayber 5 times in 3 years, all for kid prescriptions....I just can't take it.

Here is reason enough.....one time in WM I saw a girl in a nascar jacket, hair in braids (a white girl), filthy, barefoot and sucking on a huge pickle. Not something I ever want to see again.  I like to pretend everyone is shiny and nice and clean and normal. 

I don't have anything against Walmart per se... and in this case - this particular store at 9 am on a Thursday DID NOT HAVE ONE MANNED CHECKOUT post...

Only option was self check out. (felt really bad for an elderly lady 2 rows over...she was totally stuck).

It's part of the liberal agenda to hate everything American.

LOL... must admit, WM is certainly a place for peeps watching. LOL

Uh, I'm about as Republican as they come and I would rather fly (yep, using all my capitalistic fossil fuels) to Japan than shop there.
