hey keyone, of those DvD's, whats a good one for a newbie looking to build strenght and endurance?   got any suggestions?

 I did click it.  What am I missing?  Spend $218 for a secret trainer.  I wouldn't even spend $1 in a vending machine for a 'mystery' soda.  Ok, I probably would just b/c I'd be so dang curious what was going to come out.  But $200 to not know?

 Ok this makes sense!  I couldn't understand what the secret gained the company.  I found myself thinking, if it's a great buy, wouldn't they sell more if they just told people what it was.  Thanks for clarifying. 

I just reread both of your posts.  Wow.  How how how did I not pick up on that?  I usually have one completely ditzy moment of the day, and this was it.  Shoot, that's so bad that should fill my quota for the week.  Yes, I am completely making fun of myself.

hmm, wondering which DvD would be the best for me.   i just did my first Sprint (15 miles) and wanna build a better base than what i currently have.   i have an Oly coming up in 5 weeks and really need to kick it up the next 4 weeks.   i see they have longer training videos, but i got no idea what would be appropriate for me.

and i think i'm gonna grab the "secret" sale the Bikesport has.   gotta like that price

also, can someone give me a short tutorial or link to explain small/big rings to me?

all i've ever used is the small ring.   i see on those Spinerval DvD's they have you chaging rings regularly and it's a bit confusing for me.

can someone explain or link me a newbie guide to the rings and gears?

1st the KK = the road.  Its a great deal. 

chainring/cogs - short lesson.

• Chainring - big gears in front, shifted by your left hand. Either 1, 2, or 3
• Cogs, - smaller gears in back, on your rear wheel, shifted by your right hand.  From 5 to 10.  9 and 10 most popular
• Assuming a constant RPM: 
• When you are in your biggest chainring and smallest cog, its the hardest to pedal but one goes the fastest
• When you are in your smallest chainring and biggest cog, its the easiest to pedal but one goes the slowest
• Shifting from the smallest cog to the bigger cogs will make it easier to pedal but slower.  Shifting from the biggest chain ring to the smaller chainring will also have the same effect. 
• The "Gearing" as I described above, doesn't go in order. IOW if you wanted to go from the hardest to the eastest, in order you might do this(assuming 10sp double, a triple would work much the same way). 
• big chaingring(BC)/smallest cog(c)
• BC/c+1
• BC/c+2
• BC/c+3
• BC/c+4
• Smallest Chaingring(SC)/c
• BC/c+5
• SC/c+2
• BC/c+6
• SC/c+3
• ......
• SC/c+7
• SC/c+8
• SC/c+9
• SC/c+10 
• Never use the biggest chainring and biggest cog, conversly, never use the smallest chainring and smallest cog.  This is called "cross chaining" 

Spinnervals 13 - Tough Love.  3 hours of pain and sweat, it's highly recommended (by me.)

I'm going to add a couple more before the winter too, specifically some time trial and strength focused ones.  They're great workouts, though I do play the "Commercial game" a lot during football season.  If you're not familiar, you spin at a moderate pace when the game is on, and when they pop to commercials you crank up the resistance and speed till the game comes back on.
