I am picking up a friend's 2.5 year old yellow lab after work today.  I am taking her on a trial basis, to see if she'll work or not.  Her name is Bell, and if I kept her (which I have a feeling I will) I'd want to change her name.  I want to give her a name that's sporty and maybe tri or running related.  If ya'll have any ideas let me know.  So far I only have 2 options- from a BT'er of course!

It's too early to yank that thread.  Kidding- i'll see if he'll delete it- it's useless.

You know "Bell" makes helmets. It is a tri name. Why don't you just change the spelling to "Belle?"

C'mon.  How would you feel if your name was Bell and you were named after a deceased relative?  the only humane thing to do is to change her name

I bet run4yrlif would recommened the name "Yasso" but I think that's more a boy name than a girl name.

How exciting for you!  I hope she works out for you.

I like the names you first listed probably because one of my dogs is Sasha and the other dog is Nikki.

My DH is in the technology field and I told him we could name the dog a tech name, I pick Voip but he said no cause technology changes and it would date the dog...HA.

By the way I found that it takes longer for the dog to learn a changed name than it does to learn the first name so be patient but she will get it.

That would be a cool name but I agree more of a male name.  But I cringe when I think about running those during the 90-100 degree days, I wouldn't want the dogs name associated with that pain.

But is that a male or female name, or could it be both?  It was to my understanding that Kona is a female name, so I don't think it would work for your male lab.  It would look like a sissy if you gave it a female name.

But...even if she's a yellow lab, Kona still applies to her since it's tri rtelated, I like coffee, and have visited Hawaii twice before.  So it almost works better for me than it does for you.

If it were a male, I'd name him Yasso.  I think that would make a pretty darn cool name.  And then when people ask you what it means, I could say "You don't know about Yasso 800's?  You're really missing out!"

She's smart.  She'll figure it out.  This will be a good way to start over, since her owner didn't give her much attention.  I'm sure she's scarred from it!
