Subject: RE: PDA and surfing the internetI have a Toshiba e405 that runs MS PocketPC. I got it mostly because it's the thinnest PDA I could find and it looks really good, and after 5 months spent in a nasty development project for the Palm I was sick of staring at Palm Pilots.
Both devices have pros and cons, and I like them for different reasons. Both now have browsers that let you surf the web pretty normally, and I think both have expansion slots that accept a wi-fi card. I don't know about connecting to the internet with them any other way. I think you either have to have a Palm that's got some kind of dialler in it and subscribe to their service (maybe they stopped doing that?? I don't know ) or you have to connect thru your cell phone or some such. I could be showing my extreme ignorance here, that's just my impression of how it works.
What do you mostly want it for? I'd consider that and surf around to make sure that either platform will have the apps you're interested in before making a final decision.
