Subject: Swim Groups/Training in South Louisiana
I am looking for a group that trains or at least gets together to swim, pool not OWS, in the south La area.  I am live in Lafayette so the closer the better.  I am a pretty good swimmer and I am not looking for lessons just looking for a group that trains together and will help me be a better swimmer.  There area a lot of bike and running clubs I figured that there had to be a least one swimming club in the Acadiana area.

The only one I'm aware of is the master's swim class at Red's. For a "pretty good swimmer" like yourself they would offer structured workouts, possibly tailored slightly to your needs. For those not-so-good swimmers like myself I get lots of feedback on my technique and drills to correct deficiencies. I've been going three weeks and see some improvement but also have a clearer idea of what to work on. Cost is $40 for a four-week session, or about $5 each swim, plus the membership at Red's.

There was also rumored to be a group that met like at 5am at the pool on Eraste Landry. I've never verified that, nor do I know if they still meet.

I hate to sound ignorant, but when you use the word "Master's" I think golf master's, meaning older, not "old," people.

Yep, that's the case here. Specifically, 18 and older.
