For any of you that own this bike, have you put clip-on aero-bars on them?

The handlebars seem a bit odd, like there is a spacer or something near the stem.  Also it has a 2nd set of brake levers which I will have to take off, do these just slide off the cable, as they seem to be attached to the same cable that comes from the main brake lever/shifter.

I just had the LBS (well, actually Performance, but still) put aerobars on my Dolce...and it was freakin' expensive because they had to deal with the 2nd set of brakes...they had to rerun the brake cables or something like that because of what you mention - they're on the same cable.

They didn't seem to have any problem with the spacer or whatever.

Ok, cool I don't mind re-running the brake cable, but TBH my Bar wrapping leaves much to be desired so I wanted to make sure that it was even possible before I started.

I have a 2005 Dolce and did exactly what you are trying to do.  Most of the work was DIY with help from another BTer Ontherun.

Got a pair of clip on Vision Tech mini bar.  Took off handle bar tape, removed extra brake levels, put on aerobars (need spaces as the bars are narrow) and re-tape.  Yes the extra levels are attached to the same cables.

Oh.. After installing  the aerobars I brought the bike to LBS for a fitting.  The end results is that the mini aerobars are too short for me and the geometry of the bike relative to my body is not suitable for aero position, even with a longer aerobar.  LBS guys suggest keeping the aerobars on so I have 4 positions to ride on - upright, horn, drop and grabbing onto the aerobar for a short period if I feel like, not not exactly aero.
