Subject: RE: Off season suggestionPersonally, I don't really take an off season. I continue to train throughout the winter. The biggest difference between the main season, and the off season is that if I miss a day during the "off season" I will not beat myself up for it. Now, if I miss that same day during the season, there is no end to the punishment.
Granted, I am no coach, but I would say if you can do 2x per discipline that would be the best maintenance schedule. Of course, some workouts will have to be on the trainer/dreadmill, etc. because of the shorten days, but that has worked for me.
I still try to get in 3x per discipline during the winter months. Most of my bike is done on the trainer, runs are outside, and swims are at the gym. |
