Subject: Wetsuit question

I bought a wetsuit and it appears to fit correctly (I assume).  I have worn it 2x and each time after about 500M my arms have gotten really sore/tired.  I take the suit off and my arms go back to normal.

Next weekend have my first tri where wetsuits are legal but temp is pretty close so probably don't really need one but I hate to give up that free speed/buoyancy.

Do you think it would make sense to just rent a sleveless for the tri and experiment with my full in the offseason a bit and if it still makes my arms sore sell it and try another size/brand?

If I'm not wrong you are racing the Miami Man...I have raced the Miami Man 3 times and this year will be my 4th time...I have never used wet-suit for this race...but...the water is really chilly....I'm using for first time my sleveless wet-suit...why not??? I want to take adavantage like everybody too....LOL

I will recommend to you to rent a sleveless for this tri....Go for that....!!!

IMO I would not rent a sleaveless unless you have time to try it out first.  If it doesn't fit properly, it could create more issues.

Your arms are most likely sore from the lack of time in the suit.  It is tight and constrictive and takes a while to get used to.  It usually takes me four or five swims in mine every spring before I get used to it again.

Take it with you and decide that day.  Be ready for anything, good luck and have fun!

Thanks, didn't know that about the wetsuit.  I can pick one up tomorrow and swim in it this week in a pool and there is a practice swim on Saturday before the tri, lol take both maybe and see.

Will keep the full suit also now and give it some more time.
