Subject: RE: Happy to notice body changes, even when the scale isn't movingAwesome job on the measurements. I've had the same thing happen to me recently. Well, except for the dress wearing part. Leg shaving, I'm ok with that, wearing a dress is a little out of my comfort zone though. But anyhow. Even though weight is one of the most easy ways to measure your success, it's not always the best indicator. I think that when we say that we want to lose weight, what we're really saying is "I want to look better." But weight is a concrete concept, so we say "I want to lose weight." Sure, you can tell when clothes fit better, or are getting loose and you need new ones, but it's not something you can point at as easily. "I look better" or "my clothes are fitting better" doesn't sound nearly as good as "I lost 8 pounds last month." So try to focus on the changes you've made, and the consistancy of your efforts. The weight will come off, but really, that's a side product of training. |
