Subject: Order to upgrade my roadie

I am considering upgrading the components on my roadie.  Looking at going Shimano DA.

Plan is to buy a component, sell the one from my bike and so on until I can get it done.  I know it is going to take a while but that's OK

What do you think is the best order to upgrade.  Figuring to do the rear deraileur first.  Currently have an old (5-6 years) 105 on it.

MHO: Save your coins (and pumpkins) into a New Bike Fund. Reason: you're going to pay considerably more buying components piece-by-piece than you will buying them on a complete bike, and in the end you're going to end up with DA componenets on a 105-quality frame. Unless I'm missing something.

Also, you're not going to get very much selling 5-6yo 105 components.

Go for SRAM Red. Cheaper, lighter, and the TT shifters are blingin'.

What kind/brand of frame?  That determines for me the "upgradability" of the bike.

And SRAM Red destroys all others ...................
