Subject: Great HIM prep for Augusta!
I am hoping to do the HIM in Valdosta at end of August if my body heals in time as a training day. However, the HIM is in jeopardy (see below). Please register if you're interested:

They need to have at least 30 racers signed up for the HIM by Aug 21 or they will pull the plug - full refund will be granted. I am trying to make sure that this race happens. If you or ANYBODY that you know is thinking about the race, please ask them to sign up prior to the 21st. Even though I am only racing this as a team and using it as a tune up for Augusta, I really want it to happen.

While I hate to see any race get cancelled due to lack of participants, I am not sure that doing a HIM prior to your "A" race HIM is that beneficial.

The jeopardy surrounding this race is testament to the power of the WTC M-DOT brand.  Augusta is (finally) sold out at 3000+ participants. I wonder how many have registered for the SC HIM? AtomicMan in TN? The Lake Oconee HIM was cancelled earlier this year.  

I suspect that there is enough room for two fall HIM's within the greater Atlanta/tri-state market ... but only two.

i actually just spoke to RD in valdosta. the sprint is still on but the HIM is canceled and not due to lack of participants. it was due to "course and parking issues"
