Comments:

I felt good during the swimming leg. No signs of my injury and a nice and smooth swimming all the way. Only rounding the buoys I had some difficulties due to the amount of athletes....
Transition 1
  • 01m 53s
Comments:

I know I can do these transitions faster... just need to train them. During this transition I felt my injury but at very low intensity. However i started to think that the running leg would be very hard.
Bike
  • 41m 17s
  • 21.4 kms
  • 31.10 km/hr
Comments:

During the cycling leg I managed to pass several athletes and the average speed was very good.
Transition 2
  • 00m 54s
Run
  • 29m 57s
  • 5.4 kms
  • 05m 33s  min/km
Comments:

From the moment I started to run I started to feel the pain :( I wasn't yet ok to run.... I thought about quitting the race but I didn't... instead I maintained a slow pace and I can say this was the worst run I did ever and probably the injury got worst.
Also I was really suffering as shown in the picture below...
What would you do differently?:

I shouldn't had gone to this race...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My injury

Event comments:

I was doing pretty good til the end of the cycling leg and I'm sure that I could do the running leg in less than 25mins and finish some 20 places above...
Now I have to get myself "operational" and prepare for next month's triathlon

Man, that's a bummer about your injury. Hope that it didn't get any worse cause of the triathlon.

Hey Bambino, excellent race.  I only wish that my slow pace on the run was 5:33 per km!!!  That is still pretty damned good time.  Your swimming and cycling legs were pretty good as were your transition times.  The pro's are much faster at it but hey, they do this for a living!  I like the pics.  Who took them, your wife or do the organizers of the race have a photographer on hand?

Thanks
Yes Mike you're right... faster transitions are for pros... however thats a problem we have in here: just a few athletes and they all seem like pros!!! I know my times are very good but in here they're not so good... strange but true. Anyway, my injury seems to be better and I will start to train again next week...
The pics were taken by a friend of mine that also compete, but he is a pro... and he just watched this race... he is preparing for the National Champs...
