proud mama moments!

well, my eldest, ella, who just turned 4 in may has been begging to bike to the coop. she has walked there many a time. its about 3 miles away. she has been riding her bike since last summer, but has had a few crashes and has been nervous about riding. in the last month though, she has blossomed with confidence and is riding fast and well. i told her she could try biking to the zoo or around the neighborhood before she tries the 6 mile round trip to the coop. so, today she advocated for biking to the zoo where she would be taking a one day class on snakes. i said okay, assuming her dad would be able to pick us up after the class. well, the car is in the shop for an oil change, and it wasn't ready at lunch time. ella said 'its okay, i can bike!' so, she ended up biking 5 miles today! amazing!

and fi, who will be 2 in september (who did that happen), is potty training. she even asked to use the potty at the zoo. i guess my baby isn't a baby anymore! ella started training herself at about the same age. all we can do is try and keep a potty close by and watch them carefully...but like ella, fi can get out of any sort of diaper we put on her now.
