Pre-race routine:

Talked my brother and sister (both non runners) into coming down and running this with my gf and myself, sort of start a new family tradition. Met us at our place at 6:30am and by 7am we rolled out to the start.

Event warmup:

Not nearly as much as I would have liked. Quick 1/2 mile jog with a touch of dynamic stretching. Ideally, we would have had enough time to allow for a 2 or 3 mile wu run.

Comments:

Pretty decent run. Started out a bit fast but I wasn't sure if the legs would come around or not due to the marathon training build I'm in. They didn't. Felt sluggish and heavy for the first 2.5 miles and started to come a little to life in the final surge. Couldn't muster much of a kick the whole way through but nevertheless I'll be happy with my sub 19. Great start to Turkey Day!
