Im starting to train for a sprint triathlon and was wondering are there any open water swim groups in Greensboro N.C or just some awesome people that with swim with a beginner in open water?

You could also try to look for some Masters swim team groups around you...the one I used to belong to was primarily open water swimmers.  They didn't practice a ton in open water but swam enough events that they didn't need to.  I considered doing a couple of them that were shorter (some of them are 10Ks or like 7-8 miles - no thanks - but also a few in the 1-2 mile range).
