Subject: RE: 6.15.18 Friday Fun! Good Afternoon BT! 5am: :14-1/2 mile run. I have been doing 4-5 surges 15-30 second with a 90 seconds recovery pace after the surge. I am normally don't take any Gel or food on runs under about 12-13 miles long. I just started to training for refueling and took a bottle of Gator Aid and a quartered PB&J sandwich on the run. I used to do peanut butter and honey sandwiches on marathon training runs and am sure I did one on a long bike ride 3-4 years back, but this morning it wasn't working for me. I would do my surge than take the PB&J during the recovery time, but I couldn't chew or swallow. I don't remember how I did it before. I think I will stick with gels on my next long run. They are much easier on to get down. Have a Great Day BT! Originally posted by ingleshteechurCurtis...those 7 weeks are going to come fast!
Yep...It is hard to think that the last 70.3 race I completed in was done on a 7 week training plan. I have been hitting it hard for 7+ months now and 7 weeks feels so close I feel like I should start my taper. Remembering where I was 7 week out last fall and what I did to scramble to get ready for that race puts things into perspective. I still have a lot of work ahead of me.
