Me, the wife (if she doesn't cancel because of lack of training time ....... still trying to get her to participate), and her two friends.

I would be there, but I think this falls on the same day as EagleMan.  I did it 2 years ago and it was awesome.  Don't underestimate the bike course it is pretty hilly, especially in the beginning.  You will most likely see a few people walking their bikes up the hills.

I will be there. This is my 2nd time. First was 2 years ago and it was my first triathlon. Really enjoyed it...especially being on Father's Day and having my son cheering me on up the driveway to the finish.

My times were BRUTAL but being my first triathlon and not really training (or should I say, not really knowing how to) I was happy to finish. I have been a lot better and know a lot more going into it this year (though it is only my 2nd one) and expect to blow my times away.

Hoping this will be a great tune up for my first International distance event in September (Nations in DC).

First time in 5 years I'm NOT signed up for this race, which is in my backyard at my home swim club.

Great race, great course!

The bike ride is hilly, esp. the first half, on Gillis Falls Road (aka the roller coaster). Be careful of some sharp turns on downhills, I've seen riders blow right by the turn. It really pays to be familiar w/ this course, with all of its twists and turns.

The run is an out and back, moderately hilly w/ 2 long gradual climbs, net uphill on the way out and net downhill on the way back. Finishes on an uphill run. If you're in a later wave prepare for a hot run, no shade at all. Bring a hat and shades.

Does anyone have the bike course mapped out at all.  I think I have it down but not 100% with the turns and all.

Thanks

I figured it might be time to bump this up since the race is a little less than 3 weeks away (and before the Eagleman racers take over).

The last 2 years I've run 1:34:46 and 1:34:35. This year I'm shooting for under 1:30 and hopefully under 1:28.

My goal (assuming I'm recovered enough from E-Man) ........... beat CJ's cousin!  He'll beat me in the water and he'll beat me on the bike but I just need to limit my losses on both and catch him on the run.

Again, assuming I even have anything in the tank after the week before.

SHhhhh I won't tell him that you are out for him this year.  He is having an "off" year with his injuries but hell you can't tell that with his results.

I'm curious to see what he puts up for E-man.

Didn't he just win the Cascade Lake race? Or was that a different guy?

Yeah, he's definitely injured. Yell

Oh well, need to try and at least keep him within a minute (like that is gonna happen).  Oh well.  Looks like I'm just for the AG win then.

(Timing was all f'ed up at that race it looks like.  Top runner was a 25-29 female who just broke the men's world record for the 5,000m Money mouth  ... )

Figured you guys got the email.  But if not:

“TRI-TO-WIN” Athletes,
We’re looking forward to the 7th Annual South Carroll “TRI-TO-WIN” Triathlon that’s been sold out for nearly three months – and, if you know for a fact that you will not be participating, please email me so that we can consider allowing a “wait list” individual to participate.  Do know whether you participate or not that all proceeds will benefit the race organizer and producer – the Joanna M. Nicolay Melanoma Foundation whose mission is to be “the voice for melanoma prevention, detection, care and cure!”.  Without a doubt you’ll derive great satisfaction from your participation in this event!!!  BUT, there is essential information you “need to know,” that is attached, to ensure a very safe and fun event for all – athletes, volunteers and spectators alike.

Couple quick notes:
Swim seeding will occur early next week and be sent out to you as the last important piece of information you’ll receive.
Do take advantage of the Saturday check-in and overnight (secure) racking – saves you that much more time early on Sunday morning.
Do encourage friends and family to attend to encourage you on in your race efforts, but be sure they are aware of parking areas and parking prohibition from race course routes as outlined in the “need to know” info and to keep the driveway clear of pedestrian foot and motorized traffic once the race begins as there are two lanes of bike traffic and one of runners utilizing the narrow driveway space – we ask all spectators and finished athletes to walk on the grassy sides of the driveway course.
And, thanks to all of our sponsors – please thank them when you frequent their business or utilize their services – they greatly augment the success of our “TRI-TO-WIN” Event!

I had to remember what I put for my 400 time.

7:20 ...... so I'm in that "potential DQ" zone if I don't get it under 7:30.

I don't think that will be a problem for you Rick. I guess they do  that so impatient people who don't want to wait around fudge their time to get an earlier start.

I also forgot what I put down.  I'm thinking right around 8 mins or so.  Is there a way to find out!?

Swim starts and all that are up!

It's crazy ...... based on my estimated start time and my wife's. I'll be done the entire race before she even gets in the water!

I learned my lesson about having to hang around all morning. I might have fudged my time a little so I could start earlier. Embarassed

I'm 39th or something like that, so I will go relatively early.

But I also fall into that "First 50 that say they will swim under 7:30.  If you don't it is a DQ" bunch ......
