Well, I used auto draft again this year and got another average team......I play yahoo free public league FF and find it entertaining, don't win money or anything like some. This is my 5th year and the best I've done is 2nd in my league (the year I had P. Manning as QB) and the worst was last year-5th in my league, damn Griese.

The Bear had talked about starting a league for us around here, but I don't think it has been started.

This is my third year. I finished the 1st year and 3rd last year in a league with my friends.

Why don't you start a BT league here? I'd play. I was supposed to do so, but I haven't had a chance to check out the free league sites.

Just had our draft order picks for this year in my local money league, and I got the #1 pick. Hate it, trying to trade it!

Why? I'd kill to have LT on my team. Do you dislike having to wait for your next two picks?

Yes, yahoo has free FFL, drop me a PM, I could get it together, but you guys would be easy pickings.

Chad Johnson, nice pick. I had him last year & w/ Directv i saw a lot of him. A man amongst boys! W/ Palmer improving Harrison getting older, TO well being TO and Moss going to a new team I think CJ will end up w/ the best fantasy stats. You heard it here first. I like your team.

Yep, I'd have to wait twenty picks before I'd get #2 and #3. It's all a crap shoot anyway. Last year I came within 18 seconds of winning it all, picking from the last (#10) position.

Our league has a funky scoring system that favors QBs, so I'll have to hear a very compelling argument as to why I shouldn't pick Peyton first.

The most compelling argument I can make is that he won't throw 40 TD's this year!
That and Drew Brees carried me to my league Superbowl (which I lost )

Who will? I'll settle for 35.

I also had Brees as my starter and lost our Superbowl. I drafted Michael Vick but he turned out to be a fantasy bust.

mnewton - 2005-08-18 1:18 PM  What is the system?

It's kind of a scoring/yardage hybrid that I inherited ten years ago. You get 6 points for a TD<10yds, 9 pts if it's 11-39 yds, and 12 if it's 40+. You get double points (i.e., 12, 18, 24) if the TD is "uncommon to the position" e.g., a QB running for a TD or a RB throwing.

Performance points only when you get 100yds rushing/receiving or 300yds passing, 0 points for 99 yds rushing unless he scores TDs.

Got some other quirks, but that's the gist. Of course you're going to have a lot more long passing TDs than rushing, thus the advantage to the QB. Out of our top five picks, I'll bet three of them will be QBs: Manning, Culpepper and Vick (because of the rushing). McNabb was a shoo-in until TO started his antics.
