I better give a brief introduction.  My name is Neal, challenge forum junkie, and this is my second season of triathloning.   I just raced an Oly this morning and I have a HIM coming up in 2 weeks.  My goals are pretty light this month due to taper/recovery and then a vacation the last week of August but it should be fun nonetheless.

Hi! I'm Pam aka Barqhead. Returning to challenges because I lost all motivation after finishing IMCDA in June. It's time to get my butt into gear again. I'm racing a sprint in 2 weeks. Other than that, I'm just trying to get back into consistent training before the 2009 season comes to a close.

Um, I'm Slugger, and I've never done a IM or an HIM OR an Oly - but Neal and Pam are awfully nice people anyway! (congrats to both of you on your races, btw)

Lessee, my goals are to run some and bike some (hopefully split between both rides) and log my food. Logging food is a serious challenge because I work nights and I have never been able to figure out which day to put which food on. But, I am starting a new "diet" plan (a lot like the training plans, actually!), so I'm hoping that gives the structure I need.

Oh, and I ramble. A lot. Especially in my blog. But I never, ever post pad.

Good morning!  I'm Tam and I am a BTaddict.  Sorry, wrong forum!

Looking forward to playing with you guys this month.  I have swim, bike, and core goals, but I'm training for a marathon.  I figure I know I'm going to get the running miles in, but I don't want everything else to fall by the wayside.

My main goal has always been to do an ironman.  IMKY 2010 is the plan, but since its terrifying to me right now, I'll just worry about getting through my first marathon next month.

Good luck everyone!

Happy Monday!!! I'm Chris and Tam (tnickerson) is my hero. This is my 4th year of Tri-ing. I have a Oly coming up the end of the month and The Toyota challenge 1/2IM in Sept.  I have been pretty good this Spring/Summer after not doing a thing all Winter and gaining weight. So now I'm trying to work it off and get my rear in the water more.

I love Challenges and really love my bikes. The swim and run...not so much. I will try to talk enough but I'm not super Chatty. But I do get my training done. So everyone have a fun and safe day. I have an off/rest day today but have logged 2 sessions yesterday and will be back at it tomorrow.

See Tam, I actually wrote more then 1 sentence.

Chris...BTW, the hair face that is my Avatar is my Great Pyrenees Puppy, Sam. He is featured prominently on/in my logs. Can you tell my kids are grown and out of the house.

Good morning! Tam, hats off to you for the marathon thing. My first marathon took place during the IM!

I am bright-eyed (at least goggle-eyed) and bushy tailed this morning. ALready done a swim and a strength session.

Good LAWD, I have no upper body strength whatsoever. I will be a sore puppy tomorrow

Hi everyone! I am Kendra and I love to run. After breaking my leg while running 02-08 and being screwed back together, I was told I would never run again, let alone compete. After a long recovery I am back, and training for a half marathon in Sept. (I love to prove people wrong). My training is now off due to bad calf pain and a shin splint, but it is better. I may have to just do the 10k and be happy. My goals are running, bike, and strength. I am not a chatty cathy but I will try to keep up.

OHHH I love strength training! I thought it was supposed to be a good thing to work till your sore! The sorer you are the less often you have to do it right?

Hi, I'm Maria. I'm trying to get back in shape after having baby #3. She's 6 months old so it's time to get moving. I'm currently doing boot camp in the morning and would like to start running and riding in the afternoons. I'm eyeing a half-mary for the fall, but it most likely won't happen until January/February. I think that's it for now. I just need some serious motivation.

Hi, I'm Sal and I'm a recovering BT addict.  New work situation has forced me to spend a little less time here, but sometimes I get pulled in and then I'm history.

Have been marathoning for 6 years, triathloning for 5.  Did a half Ironman distance as my 1st race of the season, and all of the rest of the races this season have been Olys and sprints.  Still trying to figure out how to get enough nutrition on the bike (HIM) so I don't bonk on the run.  Haven't figured it out yet.

Doing this challenge because I am a training slacker otherwise.  My goals are: swim, bike, run.  I also could do much better at eating whole foods (fruits, veggies, grains, MEAT!).  I'm not a vegetarian, but hope to eat meat that is less processed (whole chicken vs. Chicken McNuggets ).

Good luck with the challenge everyone.  It can't be rainy and muggy the WHOLE summer...

That HIM nutrition is a toughie to figure out.  I did much better my second go around at it earlier this summer.  I'm hoping I nail it at the next one.

Hi Everyone!  I got added to this team late.  My name is Tracy.  My only goal this month is to run 30 miles.  (Of course, I have other unstated goals but this is the one I'm really working towards.)  I have a 3 1/2 month old baby boy.  I've been doing the tri thing for 4 years.  I did my first post-baby tri 2 weeks ago.  Unfortunately, my front tire blew on the ride so I had to take a big, fat DNF.  That sucked!  I'll try to redeem myself at another sprint tri in a couple weeks.  I can't wait to get to know you guys!  I know I've been on some challenge teams with a couple of you.  Nice to see you guys again!  Cheers!

Hi Team -
My name is Stacie. My goal is to do 12 sessions of bike, run and strength. The biggest goal right now is to kick it back into gear. I was doing really well until about April/May and then we went on vacation and came back to work nightmares so I just used that as an excuse. Done with the excuses. Need to get back at it and this is how it will get started.

I don't know how to swim yet (plan for lessons this fall hopefully when work slows down) and then I will try to give a tri a try. Right now I am gearing myself to start with 5ks this fall (got 3 in mind) and then it is prepping for a Half Marathon next spring and go from there.

I look forward to the challenge. I have a vacation (we are delivering a puppy to my sister) mid month but I have a calendar planned to meet goal so if I stick to it I will be golden.

Go Team.

Hiya everyone!  I'm Shawn and I pulled myself out of the well formed dents in my couch to begin the tri lifestyle back in March.  After doing two mini-sprints in the past month, I've got three sprint races coming up this fall so I am going to use this August challenge to really get my swimming, biking and running ready for them.  In addition, I have the abdominal strength of jello so doing core exercises is going to be my fourth goal.

Since the only person I recognize is Slugger from her time being chased around with a taser by Dee during their running challenge, I look forward to getting to know you all!
