I want to publicly welcome Goale, Rabka and Mndiver to the Ironman Wisconsin Taper. Be prepapred to go absolutely nuts. In the next few weeks, when you think you're going nuts, think again, as you won't REALLY go nuts until you get on site in Madison.

Enjoy!

It's nice of you guys to join me. I've been here in Taperville for a while.

Actually, I got some good biking and running in the last few weekends, but the swimming has been behind schedule. I quit hockey completely until after IMOO due to the shoulder, and I am hitting Lake Minnewashta tonight for some OWS stuff.

Thanks for the invite.  I can't wait to be in my final week of taper madness at the same time my students are all coming back for the start of another school year.  Should be a fun time

Taper and the start of school.... Eeek!  Can you send out a letter ahead of time warning them?  Or would it be better to just let them find out for themselves?  And if mine are seeming kind of rowdy, can I get you down here as a special guest speaker?

Um...this thread is called "Moo taper", not 'back to school madness".

Come on Rodger and Bryan, it's time to get out of your funk. There's less than two weeks to go and you'll be joining the club. Just think, 13 days from now at this very hour (7pm), we'll be midway through a marathon!

Hell, I'm hoping to be more than midway through it by 7:00.  So I guess taper is the period where you can't figure out what the hell your body is going to do.  Felt good before yesterdays run after just coming off a rest day.  Worst run of the year.  Was dreading this evenings run because I was tired, cranky and pissy.  Plus I had been on my feet all day and all ready biked and swam.  Proceeded to have one of my best runs in the last 6 weeks. Crazy stuff man.

I used "midway" to be ambiguous. Could mean anything between mile 1 and 26 depending on how the day treats us.

Wait till we get to Madison and you get that wristband put on you. You won't be able to wipe that grin from your face till you cut that baby off.

Do I look fat?  I feel really fat.  Be honest, I can take it.........but if you're about to reply "yes", then don't reply.  I don't need any negative vibes right now.  But cereally...I feel taper fat.

You guys are awful chatty...almost as if you didn't have any training on your calendar or such...

So...is there a 'real-time' link where we can punch your race numbers in and see your splits the day of the race?

Thx for checking in Sal! I get chatty when I'm nervous.

I believe there's a link thru the IMWI page. I followed someone thru the IM Canada site on Sunday but am unsure if it was off the main page, or if I was re-directed somewhere else. Check out IMWI homepage on raceday and you should be able to find out how we're all doing.

You can also go to the Ironman forums on this site.  Jeepbleeg stickies a IMWI thread on the top.  People usually follow all the events throughout the day and post.  I think for IMAZ the thread ended up about 20 pages long.

THAT is funny and I remember exactly how you feel.  Only thing I would have added would have been something about my legs feeling like the Michelin man's legs look.
