Subject: RE: What to eat the night before and day of a sprint Triathlon? You don't need to do a lot of "carbo loading" for a sprint. instead, make sure you eat something that's not gonna upset your stomach - heading out for spicy asian food or the fiery burrito might not be your best bet. Instead, eat something relatively bland you've eaten before and know will settle well. Morning of is something you need to practice. Some do well with nothing; others prefer the IHOP "International Passport" breakfast special. For a typical morning race, I like something grainy (wheat bagel, oatmeal, granola) when I first get up usually with OJ. Then, about an hour before start, I'll top off with a ClifBar - a couple hundred calories of easily absorbed energy. I'm then good for a sprint with no further intake other than water and/or Gatorade.
