There's no one 'right' answer for this. Depends on your current fitness level, your goals, any injuries, etc...
For example personally, one of my staple 'base' workouts on the bike is 60-90 minutes on the trainer with a main set of 2 x 20' at threshold. I would also have threshold work in swimming (rarely do LSD there) and running. Right for you? Maybe.
I personally think that your base should be made up of building and then maintaining volume at a relatively easy pace. Building a base i sall about consistancy. Now I am literally just starting ( as in 2 weeks ago) training for tri's so take my advice at your own peril. I have a pretty strong running backround and building a base for that consisted of building mileage. I would not do any interval/repeat type of stuff at all. I would throw in a tempo run once a week, but that would only be after about 10 weeks of base (lsd miles).
