Subject: RE: Newbie run training questionMy suggestion: Drop the intervals completely; they aren't necessary right now. Change that day to a medium run, but run it a little harder than easy. Same thing for the fourth run, but run it easier. The hill repeats....eh. Just run a hilly course, no need to do repeats right now, either. The intervals and hill repeats are great, but they are more race-specific. If you like going harder, run harder. Don't kill yourself, but one day a week, run at a medium effort. You're going to see greater long-term gains by increasing total weekly volume right now, and not worrying about higher intensity stuff.
