Subject: "Local" Half Distance races
I would like to attempt a half distance this summer. My only requirements are "local" (within 4 hours or so of Dayton Ohio). Any suggestions? I have seen info on The HFP race in Sept, the race in Muncie and of course Steelhead. I would like to do the race in later July or August to let me up the training and get some Olympic distances under my race belt.

What about the HFP race in August? That's the Half I'm doing.

I am planning on doing the Toyota Challenge 1/2 Ironman if I can get my mileage up. If I remember right you can use a wetsuit in this race since it is late in the year. I was hoping the wetsuit would help me in the swim since I am a slow swimmer.

The Great Buckeye Challenge is a great half in August. I highly recommend it. www.hfpracing.com
