What an amazing series. Read the book first before watching "Game of Thrones" (HBO series). But the TV series is amazing as well.

I'm feeling bummed. Just finishing up the 5th book in the George RR Maritn "Song of Ice and Fire" series and it may be quite some time before book six comes out. And will GRR Martin ever get to writing the final 7th book?

I actually think he's gone completely insane from writing the 5th book. Just a totally random theory.

I read his vampire book Fevre Dream and for the genre, it's actually very good. He is a master at character development.

Just now finishing the first book.   I'm enamored with the series.    Will start on the second book this evening.     There are minor difference in the first book and the first season of the tv show.

I've see some complaints about the violence and nudity in the tv show.   It seems to me though the produces have down played  what is in the books.

I've seen the second season and now interested in finding out how much the second season differs for A Clash of Kings.

All in all, this is the kind of literature I can wallow in unabashedly.

All one needs to enjoy these is the ability that is the "Willful suspension of disbelief."

Just started Book 4, love it. Biggest problem I have is that my library only lends ebooks for two weeks, giving me a shorter-than-wanted time span to read the 700- to 1250-page tomes.

Bought the Season One DVDs. but taking my time watching those. There's an ongoing Season Two thread that I'm avoiding like the plague.

Same here.

My problem is that I won't buy pirated DVDs ... I know of all my crazy vices, that's probably the craziest, especially since that's all you can buy here.

What's even crazier is that I'll happily accept gifts of pirated media. So I'm sitting around, waiting for someone to buy me or pass along Thrones 2. Oh no, I'm not going to ask for them. That'd be facilitating a crime. Just waiting ... waiting ...
