OK, I am a beer virgin here. I have taken sips of 3 or 4 different beers so far and they all taste bitter to me. Any suggestions on a beer that is not bitter? I usually drink vodka cranberry or long islands. THanks!

A couple Christmases ago, I bought hubby a beer-making kit from this store in New Orleans called Brew Ha Ha (by far, the BEST store name I've ever heard!).  Despite all the trouble making it, his first and only batch was really good.  I know some girls who are very snobbish about drinking beer, but I like it.  I drink just about any kind except Guinness.

Well, that's because Guinness isn't beer. It's the NECTAR OF THE FREAKING GODS! It is mother's milk, it's a taste of the old sod, it is dearer to me than life itself.

I likes the beer.

yes, agreed.  that being said, it's best if you taste it first in heaven/Olympus:  Ireland.  every other Guinness pales in comparison.

Try an oatmeal stout with double fudge chocolate cake, or Chimay Blue with a steak!

If you like spicey food, like Thai, try a watery American style lager, or even a watery Mexican Lager. The hotter the food the better American/Mexican style Lagers taste with it.
