After rewatching the original, I love his kick towards the end, where he drops all of those kids. He's gotta feel good about that.

I hate these people with a passion. All those %$!# tourists getting their picture taken in front of that &%@* statue. There' a world-class art museum right there and how many of them even realize that?

Get off my lawn!

Nothing in that museum will stir the soul like Rocky 3. Maybe it should, but it doesn't to the majority of us!

I've always imagined a museum employee with an office that has a view of that spot, who dies a little inside every time that happens outside their window. Hey at least the statue was at the Spectrum for most of its life so far. I remember meeting people at it for Spectrum shows, but then everyone met at the Rocky statue. I was surprised when they moved it to the AM after the Spectrum closed. I wonder how many people still expect it to be right at the top of the steps like in the movie.

Now I'm extremely motivated to go to Philly and do this. I'll start in Brian's lawn and head straight to the steps. Should be a good route.

I was speaking metaphorically, I have no lawn, I have cobblestones in my yard. I do have some potted plants. From my house to the top of the steps is 0.41 miles

Hellz yes, although it's going to have to be a multi-loops course with the updated information. Also, I may need trail shoes for the cobblestone.

That would be awesome. I finally got around to reading the article. That would be a fun race using the exact route. Please make sure the race is early in the morning...some of these neighborhoods at night are not entirely safe...

I've done it too. It was way more interesting than seeing the Liberty Bell. Surprised

Have to admit, we took the kids back to Philly a couple years back (they were all born there when the better half and I were in grad school) and they all ran the steps (up to us as we filmed them).

And it was after cheesesteaks.  Surprised

At least we then continued right into the museum.  Laughing

And for the record, I'm in for the 50k!

Well it sounds like there are a few takers for a 50k that starts at Brian'a ends with the Rocky Steps and has a beer stop and a cheesesteak food cart on the route. I'll wear the Go Pro, if you do the commentary. I love it when a plan comes together

That is my favorite part of driving by the art museum.  I love watching the huffing and puffing the farther up the steps the tourists get.  Or just as entertaining the late night drunks tripping going up the steps.  I've never done that last part either.
