It's amazing what women really look like without makeup.  They look sooo different.  I don't wear makeup- never have.  Only lipstick.  I'm glad that people are used to seeing me being "all nat-ur-ale" so that when I'm training they're not scared becuase I don't have on the make up   A guy I know told me that the best way to see what a girl REALLY looks like is to take her swimming on the first date- lol!

Shout out to the BT boys:::

I'm wondering how many men have left their lady friends after the first time they've seen her without makeup because she just wasn't what he thought she looked like.

I've always wondered what a lot of the inital thoughts or what the actual physical jolt was like of men the instant they finally see their women without the face paint. Gotta be some funny stories....

I love the whole white face tanned neck and body thing. That cracks me up. I was watching a commercial a while back and they were selling mousse cover up or something like that. Why not just call it spackle?

I have a girlfriend I've known for about 15 years and I have never once, not once seen her without make up.  I've seen her in a bikini on the beach, in workout gear, seen her boobies before and after, I've seen her two hours after her second C-section, but I have never, never, not ONCE, seen her without makeup!!!

uh....

Lucy never wears it unless it's a really really dress up thing.  uggg.... I call it "war paint".

I love make up, but not that much makeup! I like the "au naturale" look myself, or just enough makeup to enhance what's already there, but never to alter my actual appearance! Sheesh, that's false advertising!

I don't think I could do that much of a change with make-up.... are you sure there was no airbrushing???

I have a hard enough time finding my eyeliner never mind putting it on!

Yep, I do recall your incredulous exclamation about the chick.

I wore lipstick during the Reebok Womens Tri - I thought it was apropos.

And, I like that I have a good concealer as I frequently have dark circles under my eyes and my powder foundation smooths out my skin tone and about 30 shades of red lipsticks to make my lips 'pop.' When I'm feeling vampy, I'll apply mascara and even eye liner.

I'm decidedly not anti-makeup.

On behalf of the "girlie-girls" who also do triathlons, I have to say that makeup can be a good thing (especially the older I get!)---but if you know what you're doing, then most people will think that you are more "natural" vs. "made-up". I've actually had people tell me that I'm lucky that I don't have to wear make-up (if they only knew!)

I spend 3 times the amount of time on skin-care than I do on make-up. That's the key, IMO.

Finally, regarding photos---
Back in the spring, I was part of a professional photo-shoot for a project that I was working on. For a couple of hours, I had someone fluffing my hair and adjusting the lighting so that it was just "so". When we were finished, they pulled the images up on a computer monitor. We picked out the photos that we liked the best. Then the one assistant started taking his mouse and smoothing out various "imperfections". He was so proud of himself and I said, "I don't look like that! Put some of that back!" It was weird. It looked like me, but it didn't look like me. Ever since that experience, I look at photos in magazines much differently....

I can apply my makeup in 5mins or less. In traffic too!

My skin care is pretty low maintenance; I just wash and moisturize. My fav products are Aveda - Botanical Kinetics Purifying Gel Cleanser, Hydrating Lotion and Night Nutrients for around my eyes. Which reminds me... I need to stock up!

I keep thinking about the purty flower design I want painted/silk screened onto my new wetsuit...

...Would that qualify as make-up for your wetsuit or for you?

Putting you in it would girlify it sufficiently.

Someone at work was talking about getting her eyelids tattooed so she didn't have to put on makeup there every morning. That does not sound like a pleasant expeirence, especially if the tattoo artist sneezed mid tattoo and you get it in the eyeball.

We once again have a problem with the definition of "man". A man would not be so stupid or shallow as to leave just because he saw his woman without makeup. He also would not be with a woman that felt she needed to do that--that's a security issue. BEING a man is a lot different from just having the necessary equipment.

btw, and old boyfriend of mine had a simple philosphy when it came to women (one my husband also subscribes to).

if you are with a woman who you think is beautiful, and you dump a bucket of water over her and you still think she's beautiful - then she's beautiful.

ps. the woman should probably be warned about the bucket in advance, or you may end up with said bucket up your, well, stored tightly in the garden shed.
