Welcome to the March Challenge....

They are fierce, they show no fear - they are the peep army. When other sweets invade the Peep Army send them into retreat back to Lollyland and Sugar country... Peep town will always be safe with the brave chicks of the Peep Army.

Your team line up is:

1. Artemis

2. Bondgirl

3. Bopper

4. kaqphin

5. kellyg

6. light_sabe_r

7. mesteren

8. orange223

9. skarl

10. WaterDog66

Please take the time wherever you can to get to know your team members through team chatter here and inspires on their logs. The more motivation you can give each other, the higher chance you wont be declared  marshmallows at the end of the month! (I mean who doesnt like some team support to get them going?)

You need to chose a team captain and I will drop back in the next couple of days with a spreadsheet for you to use to track your team results. I will set up a teamcaptain/ leaders thread for each team to check in everyweek.

As mentioned in the original post reporting weeks for the challenge are as follows:

Week 1: March 1 - 9
Week 2: March: 10- 16
Week 3: March 17 -23
Week 4: March 24-31

Please make sure your logs are up to date at the end of each week, and don't forget to report your weekly results to your team!

You can increase your individual goal anytime throughout the challenge, just make sure your team captain knows of the change so they can let me know in the weekly check ins. I will post an update on the challenge in a thread each week and let your team know when it is ready... I make these on a separate thread as its a good chance to mention how great you are going to the other teams!!!

In case you missed it there is a loosing penalty for this challenge:
1) If your team looses the Peep Wars then you will be required to change your avatar to a Peep/Marshmellow for the month of April
2) If you fail to meet your personal goal in the Peep Wars, you must add a signature line that declares " I am a marshmellow and need to harden/toughen up!" for the month of April

FINALLY... this is a competition so feel free to drop in on the other teams with pictures, comments and banter - they will probably do it to you!

So I suggest you introduce yourself to your team below with information like your training history, upcoming goals, family life.. whatever you like to share.. and THEN... RIDE YOUR BIKE! Im sure no one wants to end the month as a Peep, or a marshmallow!

Happy cycling
Cat

PS: As I'm on this team I have one teeny tiny request.... would someone else mind being team captain so I can focus on the general challenge admin etc?

Hi team

I am Torben, and I am stuck on the trainer this month as everything is white outside I will actually focus a bit more on running this month, but since you should never forget to bike I am in for 500k........spend on the trainer....... in front of the TV.

We are the Army…….the ONLY army in Peep town, so how can we possible lose this challenge???

Hey Peep Army!

I'm Terry and my background is similar to Bopper/Kevin.  I come from a few years of mountain bike racing and am also a recent Tri convert as of last year.  I have an Xterra, 2 Olys and another offroad Tri on schedule this year.  Throw in 5 mtn bike races and I have a full season.  I enjoy road biking as well.

My first race of this season is at the end of this month, so a lot of my bike miles this month will be long, slow, and off road; hence my only selecting 150 miles for the month.  I'll gladly up that number if our mtn bike practice sessions go well for the race.

"Failure is not an option!"  Hahahah!  Let's have fun, encourage each other and kick some peep tail on meeting our goals!!!

Terry

Morning Peep Army!!  I'm Jen.  Haven't been biking much recently, so this will help me get back in to multisport mode.  Should be fun!

I don't mind being captain if no one else wants to do it.

Hi Peep Army!  I'm Susan.  Last year was my 1st tri season also.  I've got 3 nearly grown kids so hubby and I decided we should get back in shape now that we have some free time and triathlon training sounded like a good plan.  Now I'm hooked and hubby makes a great sherpa at the races   I've been mostly running so far this year so looking forward to putting the biking first.  It will be almost 70 degrees Saturday so we'll be going on a long ride.  Of course, it will snow again on Sunday.....

Jen makes a great captain -- I second her motion!

Oh yeah, goal for March -- training plan calls for 16 hours, and it being the snowiest month of the year for CO, I'm betting it will mostly be on the trainer.

I also set up a Google spreadsheet for tracking us.  It was nice to have so we can see each other's progress.  This is optional because I know Cat doesn't like the online spreadsheets.  If you want to use it, it's here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pVOlxyviRAwacn3Z1-8d2IA&hl=en

Hey Tri Peeps, I am Tim and am in the final build phase for Ironman California 70.3 at the end of March. I just finished my recovery from Shoulder Surgery in December and am now back in the water going strong.

Gonna be a big bike month for me and will probably look to be a bit over the top for HIM training, but I am also base building for Ironman Coeur d'Alene in June.

My goal is 600 miles and I hope to do a majority of those miles outside. (Of course, the final 56 miles will be outdoors on the race course)

Gonna be a great month and it looks like we have a fabulous team

Oh, I would vote for Artemis to be our Team Captain. (If it is something she wants to do of course)

WOW Cat... you've been a VERY busy girl.

I'm Bopper... or Kevin... or whatever you want to call me. I come from a cycling background and am a recent tri convert (last year first year). This year the goal is to complete a HIM... as well as run my first 1/2 Mary in April. This bike challenge will keep me on my beauty... but running is and has to be my focus for the next couple months.

We are the PEEP ARMY... we are strong... we are undaunted... WE WILL SUCCEED!!!!!

ps..... now what did I promise to cycle again... I better go check that. LOL

It was a late night fueled with ice cream and a hot shower... its suppose to be summer here but it hasnt come Silly weather issues...

Oh and your promise was 15 hours.... (there are some advantages/disadvatages to having me on your time)

*singing* "Ouou I´m in the Army now...." how cool is that

I am Steffi and so need this challenge especially as all my bike time is inside on the trainer or on a spinning bike right now and motivation is hard to find when biking inside. We have lots of snow (and did have for the last 2 months) so no biking outside. I also don´t think outside biking will happen in March at all...

This is my third season of Triathlons and I hopefully get to do my first Olympic this year. So far I have only done Sprints and Half-Olympic TRIs. Last year I was training for an Olympic TRI which got cancelled 4 days before it was supposed to be and that was NO fun!!

My first TRI of the season was last week but it was an Indoor one and we cycled on Spinning bikes. It was lots of fun though

I am in for 300K (186 miles) this month

Let´s go Team

Hi All,
I'm new to the posting on forums thing so bear with me.
My background...
I used to do triathlons a few years back, the last one being Noosa Olympic distance which I completed slowly and injured. I didn't return to training and once recovered just continued with my running.
At the beginning of 2007 I got all motivated and excited and decided to return to triathlon the following season. That season has come and almost gone and I didn't do a thing!
So here I am motivated and excited again...

Ride on Peep army
