Artemis - 2011-08-07 12:30 AM A what?

Insanity--it's a three month long workout series...very high cardio mixed with strength building exercises (lots of pushups, etc.)  It's crazy hard and I love it!

I would be interested, started back in the winter before tri/ ironman training got in the way.  Im tapering right now for Louisville, but would be willing to give it a go, nice and easy until the race is over, but I'm in!

Adam, your reasons are exactly why I quit--did it all through winter then starting in January trained for IM Boise 70.3 in June.  Ran, biked, and swam all summer but now I'm ready to do something different.  Keeping the bike and run going, just adding in Insanity. Yay!  Let's do it!

Day One:  60 min/18 miles on the trainer
Plyometric Cardio Circuit.

I skipped the fitness test day and will just do back to back Plyo Cardio Circuit today and tomorrow.  Forgot what a darn sweatfest it is!  LOVE IT!!!  Couldn't keep up with the Level One drills in the second and third rounds, but I'll get there again!

Yes it is, I love it, but very difficult to do while training for other things, full time at least.  I will be going easy these last three weeks leading up to louisville , but I there with you, plus I want my damn shirt.

I'm gonna start with the Fit Test this afternoon - I'll post my results - that will help keep me motivated.  I did the first 3 weeks of Insanity last summer and quit.  Not this time.

Did it 4 times back to back. Now I just stick with swim/bike/run. I finished the Insanity thing 3 months ago.

FANTASTIC for quads, core, and abs, in that order. A little upper body too, but nothing too much.

Also, keep in mind, you won't see much results unless you strictly follow the diet plan or form your own diet plan very similar to what is listed.

Good luck and DO NOT MISS ONE DAY!!!

Day 2!

5am: 40 min run...helped to loosen up my sore legs!
6am:  Another round of Plyo Cardio Circuit.

Power squats were pretty ugly the first round, but powered through them.  Level one drills were a little better today, but still tough!

Day 3!

30 min hill repeats for me and then Cardio Power and Resistance.  I sucked at the moving pushups.  I have lost some upper body strength with all the months of tri training I think.  I'll get it back though!

Day 3 yesterday was tough.

Cardio Recovery today.  Luckily, the soreness is starting to subside.  Should be a little bit easier today . . . . . whatever that means.

Day 5 and we are rocking this my friend!  What is your first name, btw?!

30 minute run/Pure Cardio/Cardio Abs (since this is my 4th time through I've already added in Cardio Abs).

I'm working out at the Bonneville Salt Flats for Speed Week--hosing salt off the race cars/cars/trucks, etc.  I'm going to be slowly going into exhaustion, but I'm still going to power through it!  As long as I get enough sleep I should be fine.  The 111 degree is killing me though!

My name is BJ.  I see that you are an English teacher - I'm a math teacher.

I feel great today.  No soreness at all - all of the deep stretching yesterday really helped.

I understand where you are coming from with this heat.  I'm in NE Texas and the heat has been crazy.  Thats why I decided to get back on the Insanity band wagon - I can do it in the A/C!
