Does anyone have a suggestion for a solution to video a swim stroke under the water?

1 - There are special underwater cameras that are expensive.

2 - There are also waterproof bags that people put their video cameras in.  For this option I wonder how one gets the bag to stay stationary so that you can capture video without the pool wake dramatically effecting the video

Let me state that I am looking for a solution that I can implement on my own and not have someone hold the camera for me.

 Thanks -

The best one I have used is:

You can also get underwater cases for some camera models (e.g. canon)

That's pretty sweet, thx for the link. I've thought about taking vid of my stroke but from above. I think this would definitely be a nice option to compliment the above water stroke.

When I was an age-group swimmer ( 30 yrs ago) my coach got some of the big kids to half submerge a 15-gallon fish tank in the water, he placed an 8-mm home movie camera into the tank and got remarkably good footage. He took film of us swimming toward the camera and past the camera. I guess he was ahead of his time. If the waterproof bags are any good I guess that is the way to go, just get a friend to hold the camera steady and the wake will not be a problem....

Another option is the upside-down homemade periscope.

The camp I did in Feb this year they has 2 of these hooked up to a DVD recorder

They would burn it to DVD then we would view the footage over lunch and discuss adjustments and correction drills.
