I'm doing the couch to sprint program and it's pretty light (except for the swim, after which I am exhausted).  Are there benefits to taking supplements after lighter workouts and strength training? If so, which ones?

Never been big on supplements...my recovery fuel is 1 to 3 cups of chocolate soy milk, depending on training quantity, with a quality meal within two hrs. Pretty standard I daresay.

My typical recovery drink is either choco milk or protein whey with some fruit. Not really sure you need supplements, just have a good diet.

Water and a normal diet should be fine.  I just try to eat something within 30-60 minutes after a workout.

I don't start using specific recovery drinks unless I'm doing at least 90minutes or more...  Seems to work just fine.

I second the normal diet.

Just eat healthily and you'll be fine.

I use a shake consisting of whey protein, glutamine (an amino acid), maltodextrine (a sugar which helps facilitate the transport of the nutrients) and creatine.  There's a great site which explains this in detail....abcbodybuilding.com .

Hope this helps.
