Subject: Jammers/Tri shorts/ normal shorts?! help

Hey people,

Ive got my first sprint tri coming up and need some help with shorts. Ive heard you can get jammers to use for the whole race. Any links or suggestions on the best ones to get on a limited budget (£25-30).

Ive been looking around but cant seem to make my mind up!

Speedo.  I have never run/biked in jammers, but I like my Speedo jammers that I swim in.

For Trishorts, I used to use Pearl Izumi, a lot, and have recently started wearing the low-cut trishots by DeSoto.

Tyler,

I wear my jammers in the shorter races because it doesn't hurt, if it was longer I might not last too long on the bike. I also run in my jammers occasionally if I swim too so I don't have too much dirty laundry. In conclusion you should be fine in a sprint/oly triathlon with jammers.

If you get some jammers, spend a little more and get the Polyester ones, they hold up much better than Lycra.

Racing in jammers i don't think will be bad.. I've used speedo very good quality.. make sure you get the polyester jammers they last a lot longer that the lycra/spandex jammers..

as for tri shorts.. i've used both pearl and 2xu.. they are both reasonably priced.. i like the pad in the 2xu shorts..

Best things is practice in what you are going to race in.. make sure it some time before racing so you can make the necessary adjustments..

hope this helps
