Subject: RE: How do you monitor heartrate w/o a monitor. You can find a very inexpensive watch/heart rate monitor on ebay. I bought one that is a watch and heart rate monitor, it keep your average HR over a specified period of time, counts calories burned based on your preset height and weight and keeps approx. 30 laps..... it only cost around $50. The best part is there is no chest strap to wear, it reads your HR through being on your wrist. Scout7 wrote: "Why does it even matter?" I am no expert and a total newbie. But from my research and reading.... I don't guess it would really matter unless you are hoping to increase endurance and keep up with your Lactate Threshold so that you stay in aerobic metabolism instead of anaerobic metabolism.
