Subject: Need 2xu wetsuit help
I ordered a 2xu wetsuit online, because i had nowhere around where I live to buy one or try one on.  I ordered the medium which says it is for 5'7-6"0 and 159 lbs - 176 lbs.  I am 5'10" and weigh 169 and it didn't even come close to fitting.  I couldn't get it all the way up to my shoulders let alone get my arms in.  It is extremely tight through the lower area.  Does anyone know how their suits actually run and which size would be better for me.  I don't know if i need a medium solid, large or if I need to try a different brand.  Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.  This is my first wetsuit.

I'm 5'9", 170 lbs, with a weight lifter's build. I have the Medium Solid, sleeveless, and while it still is a little tight on the chest, it has worked just fine for me. The legs are actually longer than I need and should be fine for you. When I ordered mine, they said to go based on weight.

I'm about 5'10" and range between 175 and 178 and wear a medium solid and it's a perfect fit. If anything, it's a little snug around the back and chest where I'm broad, though it doesn't hinder my swim stroke. If you're a little slimmer, it'd probably more comfortable.

I'd hold off on the exchange, unless it is uncomfortable. I have a 2XU Comp and it was near impossible to get on the first time. The second time it was a little easier, 3x, etc. I was once told in a triathlon swim clinic that a wetsuit should take you 5 minutes to put on. If you slide it on with no resistance it is probably too big. Struggle for more than 5 minutes and you should go up a size.

Try it again and get wet. That changes a lot of how things fit.

I'm no expert, just my experience.

I chose the 2XU based on what others have said on the fit. I'm a big guy 6'2" @ 250 lbs. with a 48" chest. They have said that 2XU has the most generous cut. I've heard Orca are cut really small.

Good Luck!

Good suggestion - I would get the suit wet and wear it swimming one time and then see how it fits. It is normal for a wetsuit to be very hard to get on the first time.
