Subject: Garmin 301 - No Tracks found

When I attempt to upload my routes from my 301, it goes through the process of downloading the data, then it tells me "No Tracks Found".  Now I know there are tracks stored because I just downloaded them with training center.

Is this a known bug?  I have the latest firmware on the device and am using firefox 3.0.6 on windows XP SP 3.

I'm having the same problem with my 301. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling garmin communicator but it didn't fix it.  Not sure what else to do.

Actually, these are most likely different issues. Reading tracks (or routes) is a different process from searching for workouts on a specific day.

vortmax, we haven't made any modifications to that process lately and it's working for my device.  Try this and see if you get a different result:

  1. go to the Garmin Communicator API demo page
  2. Click "Find Devices"
  3. Leave the File Type as GPX and click "Read From Device"
  4. Wait for the green "Reading from..." process at the top to finish

Once it finishes it will display any tracks found. Let me know what your result is.

It didn't find anything either, although perusing the raw read string it dumped shows track data in the xml.

How many workouts do you have stored on the device? If you don't occasionally delete data, the device will degrade previously stored workouts in order to make room for more.

Try deleting some older workouts (I regularly delete everything older than one month), record a new one and see if that one shows up.
