Subject: New inspires don't ALWAYS show up in user information
I love the new feature where it tells you if you have a new inspire just like PM's.  It's especially great if someone replies to an inspire from a day or two ago that you might otherwise not see.

However, I have noticed several times where it doesn't tell me I have a new inspire...but I DO!  And I'm SURE I didn't look at them first.  I even double checked today.  I was looking at my blog and saw that I had 2 inspires when I KNOW I had only seen one of those two.

So I refreshed the page, etc. etc.  Made sure it had several chances to acknowledge it.  Never showed up.  So I finally clicked on my Inspire Me link and read it.  It had only been 4 minutes since the inspire had been posted if that makes any difference.

Not a huge deal, but...maybe some glitch?

I'll take a look. Intermittent issues can be really tough to debug so we might need some time on this one.

Not sure if this is going to help, but...RIGHT NOW it says I have 8 inspires.  I happen to know that a little bit ago I only had 7.  So I should have a new one.  I am deliberately avoiding going back to my blog right now.  I went from my blog to this forum to post about it which required several mouse clicks and it STILL isn't showing up that I have a new inspire.

This is the second time today.

I'll stay away from my inspires if you want to poke around and use the example...it won't kill me to wait a bit to see what the person wrote!

Edited to say: Nevermind...during the time I was typing this it finally showed up.  I wonder if it's just a delay?????

There is a bit of a delay. We do some caching to manage the load on the servers.

We consider this to be reasonable as the Inspires are a messaging system, not a real time comm system.
