Subject: RE: Tri wetsuitskfccarling - 2009-07-21 11:39 AM Has anyone ever heard of wetsuits? I saw them on Ebay and am not sure if they are a decent brand. Seemed pretty cheap.
Also wondering about the transition area after a swim into the bike stage when you are wearing a wetsuit. Do you leave it on or take it off? Do you wear something underneath it?
I'm doing my first tri at the PBR on Oct. 11th and would like to use a wetsuit. Probably, mostly to keep me from drowning...lol!
Thanks, Ken If it's your first tri you may want to just rent a wetsuit first (unless you already know you want to do lots more ), and make sure you know if the race will be wetsuit legal. If the water is above 78 degrees you may not be able to wear one I think. You will definitely want to take your wetsuit off in transition, you would probably die of heat exhaustion if you biked with it on. = ) I had my first tri on Sunday and I wore bike shorts undernear, most people will recommend tri shorts since they dry fast and have a smaller amount of padding so you are comfortable during the run. Good luck on your first tri! Edited by Synon 2009-07-21 2:38 PM
