Subject: RE: Savannah Tri series?I did the last one (and helped out at one of the others ). The swim is a 500 meter inverted triangle in a small lake (it's done in 3 waves - males, females, novice, and it's a water start ). The water isn't clear, but it's not bad. The bike is a completely flat 16 mile single loop that goes on some of the less travelled roads around the area (the race is about a 30 minute drive from downtown Savannah ). There only about 3 or 4 turns I think, and there are cops at each intersection. The run is a 5k entirely within L Scott Stell Park, and is two loops, also completely flat and mostly on pathways, so it winds around a fair amount. (you run past the transition area like 4 times, so it's great for spectators ). The race is nothing too fancy, but the guy who puts it on has done it several times now, so it seems to run pretty smooth. I had a lot of fun, but I knew a bunch of people out there from training so I might have been a little biased by that. I'm planning on being out there again for this one in October. |
