Subject: Tri Tops???
hey all,
So, I am working on speeding up my T1 and I notice that it takes me a fair bit of time to get my shirt on when I am wet.
All the tri's I have done have not been wetsuit legal and I usually swim with just my tri shorts or spandex. However, I like to wear a shirt on the bike and run.
Are tri-tops and tri-singlets the same thing? Are they meant to be worn as a top during the swim, even without a wetsuit?
Not sure I am ready for a full tri suit yet.

Thanks for the help.

Not sure what a "trisinglet" is but I imagine it's similar to a tri top. Yes, a tri top is made to swim in, with or without a wetsuit. Trying to put a shirt on in T1 is a waste of time and energy.

thanks for the post and reply.  I was wandering the same thing.  I've only done wetsuit races, but i'm doing a sprint in a couple of weeks (first non-wet suit race) and I wasn't sure what to do.  Thanks.

wear the tri-top in the water...total waste of time and effort to put it on during T1...I even wear the shirt under my wetsuit without any issues. I think you would have less drag in the water with a one piece tri-suit though

I had bought a tri-top and found it was a little loose for the water.
I will keep shopping. Thanks!
